|Founded in 1989, the
EPL is performing the research on the electrical behavior of
polymeric materials. In the last decade, we have developed various
techniques to evaluate and control the electrical properties
of polymeric materials. The research fields are divided mainly
into two parts; One is focused on the insulation which represents
the prevention of charge migration. We have worked on the design,
modification, characterization and diagnosis of insulative polymer
system which is commercially applied mostly to power cables.
The other is about the conduction which represents the promotion
of charge migration. Through the most challenging technologies,
we are dedicated to advancing the theories and practices of
conductive polymers for various applications such as transparent
antistatic protection materials.
30 alumnies have graduated under the guidance of Prof. Suh
Now, 11 graduate students participate actively in the research
projects doing our best to lead the communities related to
polymer science and engineering.
